Some people wait a lifetime for a miracle...

We raise them one at a time.

Ehreth

pr4.jpg (15482 bytes) Ehreth's dam and sire were Nyla and Dishon and he was named for a CCI donor, David Ehreth. He was raised by Ed and Marsha Borr in the San Jose area and graduated with Tim Daynes as a Service Team in November 1998. Tim suffered a spinal cord injury as a teenager in a diving accident. The early prognosis from his doctors was grim. He was expected to live the rest of his life totally dependent on others. Tim is a quadriplegic but he surprised his doctors by successfully regaining some of his upper body muscle control. With his first Service Dog, Yaz, Tim was able to go to college, be employed, and lead an active, productive life. He is now married. Tim is frequently invited to be a motivational speaker in Utah, his home state, as well as other areas. Sadly, Yaz became seriously ill last year and had to be put to sleep. It was a very devastating loss for Tim because Yaz shared so many significant events with him including being the Best Man at his wedding.

Ehreth is the successor to Yaz and is a perfect match for Tim. As a puppy, Ehreth frequently went along for presentations to school children, service organizations, and public events. Ehreth is comfortable with any type of group and has always been an eager working dog. He is well suited to Tim's active life and can perform the tasks Tim needs. Present at the NW graduation were not only Tim's wife and parents (who are now CCI puppy raisers) but also David Ehreth and Yaz's puppy raiser, Cathy Phillips who remains a close friend. Although Yaz will always have a special place in Tim's heart, Ehreth has made a place there too and Ed and Marsha are now part of the "extended family."

The November '98 NW graduation was very special to Ed and Marsha. In addition to proudly presenting Ehreth to Tim, they also turned in their fourth puppy, Ulla, for advanced training and picked up their fifth CCI puppy, Rosie--all on the same day! Ed and Marsha are very active CCI volunteers and have since moved to Florida. One of their many contributions to South Bay Chapter was setting up this web site for us.
